Fiber Between Hotel Buildings

When Multi-Building Hotels Should Use Fiber

Wireless point-to-point links can connect hotel buildings quickly, but as bandwidth demand grows they can become a shared bottleneck or another RF-dependent component to troubleshoot. When a physical pathway is practical, fiber often provides the stronger long-term backbone.

Benefits of Fiber

  • High and predictable throughput
  • Electrical isolation between buildings
  • Strong upgrade path for future speeds
  • No radio alignment or channel-interference concerns
  • Better foundation for cameras, APs and other high-traffic systems

When Wireless Still Makes Sense

A wireless bridge can still be appropriate where trenching is impossible, buildings are temporary, or a backup link is needed. The design should account for clear path, mounting, power, surge protection and actual required throughput.
