Cat6 vs Cat6A: Which Should You Install?
Both can be excellent choices. The right answer depends on distance, required speed, pathway space, budget and whether the cable plant should support future 10-gigabit links.

When Cat6 Makes Sense
For many homes, access points, cameras, phones and ordinary office endpoints, Cat6 is cost-effective and more than adequate.
When Cat6A Makes Sense
Cat6A becomes more attractive for new commercial construction, long horizontal runs, 10 GbE workstation/server links and projects where the additional material and pathway requirements are acceptable.
