Estimate a Starting AP Range
This calculator gives a planning estimate, not a heatmap or RF survey. Use the result as a starting point before final placement.
Based on the current assumptions.
How This Estimate Works
The calculator combines a coverage estimate with a simple capacity check and a minimum-per-floor check. It intentionally leaves some design margin rather than assuming one access point can cover an entire floor under every condition.
When You Need a Proper Design
Large homes, hotels, warehouses, high-density businesses, outdoor areas and buildings with masonry or metal construction should be planned from floor plans and verified after installation. Request a network consultation for Virginia or North Carolina projects.
Plan the installation behind your AP estimate
The calculated range is a starting point. Placement, cable routes, wall construction and busy areas need review before choosing the final equipment and quantity.

What to send with your request
- Project city/state and whether it is a home, business or hotel.
- Square footage, floors, construction and expected users entered above.
- The estimated AP range, outdoor needs and areas where coverage matters most.
- Existing equipment, cable access and preferred project timing.
Paste the figures into the project description; calculator results are not automatically included. Keep passwords, guest records and private keys out of the initial request.
On-site installation is available for qualifying projects in Virginia and North Carolina. We agree scope, fees and availability before scheduling work.
Choose the right next step
Explore business network installation, hotel WiFi projects or UniFi installation services. Use the PoE calculator to estimate switch power needs alongside the access-point plan.
If an existing UniFi network is unreliable, nationwide remote support may help investigate configuration and connectivity. A calculator cannot diagnose the fault. Request remote troubleshooting.
