UniFi Setup

Commercial Network Solutions

UniFi network installation, business WiFi and structured cabling for offices, shops, restaurants, warehouses and other commercial properties. We review the full path from the internet connection to the devices your team relies on.

Planning an installation or network upgrade?

On-site projects are available in Virginia and North Carolina, including Richmond and the Outer Banks. Tell us your location, business type and project stage so we can discuss the next step.

Choose the work your business needs

  • New premises or renovation: plan cable routes, equipment locations, switching and wireless coverage before walls and ceilings are closed.
  • An unreliable existing network: investigate cabling, power, wireless capacity and configuration before deciding what to replace.
  • Growth or additional systems: assess switch ports, PoE capacity, uplinks and access requirements for new staff, cameras or connected devices.
  • Several locations or buildings: review site connectivity, management access and the practical cable or wireless path.

Commercial network installation scope

The agreed scope can combine gateway and firewall configuration, managed PoE switching, access points, Cat6 cabling, rack organization and network documentation. Structured cabling services support the physical infrastructure; UniFi installation services cover the connected system.

Staff, guest, camera and IoT networks can be separated with policies based on their actual access needs. Connectivity for point-of-sale, phones, cameras and access-control systems must be coordinated with those systems’ requirements and vendors.

Equipment selected around the site

Our project experience includes UniFi UDM Pro gateways, Pro Max PoE switches, Flex 2.5G PoE switches and U7-Pro access points. These are examples rather than a fixed package: port counts, power, uplink capacity, coverage and existing equipment determine the proposed design.

Use the PoE budget calculator or access point calculator for an initial planning estimate. A calculator does not replace checking the actual building and device requirements.

From assessment to handover

  1. Review requirements: identify business systems, recurring problems, current equipment and the work location.
  2. Assess the site: establish cable pathways, equipment placement, access constraints and any need for further investigation.
  3. Agree the proposal: confirm equipment, labor, exclusions, access arrangements and a suitable change window.
  4. Install and verify: check the agreed connections, wireless operation and intended network access before handover.
  5. Document and support: agree the documentation and any ongoing maintenance included in the project.

Plan around business operations

Network changes can interrupt phones, payments and cloud applications. Tell us which systems must remain available and when work can take place. The proposal should identify expected interruptions and recovery arrangements; uninterrupted service cannot be assumed.

Hotels and guest properties

Hospitality projects need particular attention to guest coverage, front-desk systems and separate buildings. See our hotel network installation services and the Outer Banks network project examples from OBX WiFi.

Common commercial project questions

Can existing UniFi equipment be reused?

We assess its condition, compatibility and capacity against the proposed requirements. Replacement is considered where the existing equipment cannot reasonably meet the agreed scope.

Can you help with configuration remotely?

Yes, nationwide remote support may suit configuration and troubleshooting when access is available. Cable installation, equipment replacement and physical faults need someone at the site.

What information helps prepare an estimate?

Send your city/state, business type, approximate space, floors, number of locations, existing equipment and planned timing. Describe the systems that need connectivity and whether you own or lease the premises. Keep passwords and private keys out of the initial request.

Discuss Your Commercial Installation

We review suitability and agree scope, fees and availability before work is scheduled. Check on-site service coverage.
